Vegetarian Shoes is the oldest vegan shoe company around, established in 1990. Founder Robin Webb made each shoe special order and by hand.
Early on, he discovered a synthetic micro-fibre material used in yacht upholstery and spun it to revolutionize the production of leather-free footwear.
Their materials look, feel and breathe like leather. Their patented “Vegetan” Micro-fibre is over 70% biodegradable.
Even as demand for vegan footwear blossoms all over the world, Vegetarian Shoes are still made in European factories, including the oldest co-op in the UK, established in 1881.
